July 20th 2023, Hydroplane Exhibiting and Presenting on its Hydrogen Powered Protium Aircraft System Integration at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hydroplane Exhibiting and Presenting on its Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powerplant Development Progress at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023

OSHKOSH, WI (July 20, 2023) – Los Angeles-based Hydroplane (EAA Booth 417) will be demonstrating the principles behind hydrogen fuel cell powerplant technology and presenting about the company’s groundbreaking modular green energy powerplant at two events during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023. Hydroplane will exhibit with Avilution (EAA Booth 417) on July 24 and 25, conducting hydrogen power demonstrations throughout the day. Hydroplane Founder Dr. Anita Sengupta will also be a panelist in the Hydrogen and Energy Storage Session at the Vertical Flight Society’s 17th Annual Electric Aircraft Symposium and provide an update on the status of integrating Hydroplane’s hydrogen electric powerplant in its Protium aircraft system in an EAA Education Forum.

Hydroplane is developing a modular 200-kW (270 hp) hydrogen fuel cell powerplant for the experimental aircraft, general aviation, and urban air mobility markets. The sustainable aviation company, funded by the U.S. Air Force’s prestigious Agility Prime Program and led by space program veterans, is developing its novel electric propulsion powerplant to replace combustion-piston driven engines in currently certified, experimental, and future aircraft. Hydroplane’s novel fuel cell stack and balance plant is specifically designed for single engine aviation as it is light weight with a compact form factor, highly durable, and emits only water. The powerplant also provides a significant increase in endurance over battery-powered alternatives. Hydroplane is on track to fly its demonstrator aircraft in 2023.

Vertical Flight Society’s 17th Annual Electric Aircraft Symposium

When: Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CDT

Where: University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in the Culver Family
Welcome Center and online

Dr. Sengupta will present at Vertical Flight Societys 17th Annual Electric Aircraft Symposium as a Hydrogen and Energy Storage Session panelist. She will share progress made on Hydroplane’s ground-up hydrogen fuel cell technology’s development and plans for implementing it into the market as a retrofit for existing single-engine piston aircraft.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023 Presentation – Hydroplane Hydrogen Aircraft

When: Monday, July 24, 2022, from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. CDT

Where: EAA AirVenture Forum Stage 9

Dr. Sengupta will deliver an in-depth presentation on the Protium Aircraft System integration status of the Hydroplane Hydrogen Electric Powerplant as well as the intricacies of how the system will operate. The talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
