Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Electric Propulsion Mechanical Engineer at Hydroplane in the Los Angeles County Area. The Electric Propulsion Engineer will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing, and electric propulsion systems including electric motors and controllers, high power electronics, batteries. They will responsible mechanical/fluid/thermal system component specification and selection and in design, assembly, and test of mechanical/fluid/thermal systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field
- Electric Propulsion expertise for land, sea, or aircraft
- Experience with aircraft, drones, electric cars, and electric motors
- Experience thermal management systems, pressure vessels, gas delivery systems
- Strong Analytical Skills in the areas of mechanical system design
- Background in Electric Vehicle Integration and Test
- Experience with CAD, FEA/FEM, and Matlab
- Ability to design, fabrication, and assemble primary structure and secondary structures for mounting hardware to
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well in a team
- 3 years relevant experience in an industry or research environment
