Dr. Anita Sengupta - Founder & CEO
Dr. Anita Sengupta is the CEO and Founder of Hydroplane Ltd. She is a 20-year veteran of the US space program having had lead engineering and executive roles at NASA, Virgin, ASX, and Boeing. She is also a Research Professor of Astronautical Engineering at the University of Southern California, Captain in the Civil Air Patrol USAF Auxiliary, and an instrument rated pilot. She received her MS and PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Shailesh Atreya is our Aircraft and Power Systems Chief Engineer. He is a 45 year veteran of electric aviation and electrical power systems with lead engineering roles at Boeing for over 40 years. Most recently he led the Boeing Cargo Air Vehicle and NASA SOFTSHOE Hydrogen fuel cell power plant aircraft system design. He holds 8 Patents and is an Industry Leader on PEM and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Systems for Aircraft. He has a BS in electrical engineering from Delhi University.
Mr. Kevin Damoa is our Electro-mechanical lead. He has 20+ years experience in electro-mechanical vehicle systems engineering and logistics management from SpaceX, Northrop Grumman. Most recently he was the Vice President of Xos Trucks and Romeo Power Technology. He is also a military veteran with over 17 years of service with the US Army and Air Force. He has a MS in mechanical engineering from Embry Riddle and a MBA from Devry University.
Dr. Robert Clark is our Aircraft Certification lead. He has over 30 year experience in the environmental and safety regulatory space and is a Civil Engineer by training. Dr. Clark is also a multi-engine airline transport pilot, helicopter pilot, and certified flight instructor with over 11,000 hours of flight time in single, multi, and jet aircraft. He has a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana Champagne.
Dr. Renuka Fernando is our Infrastructure Projects Advisor. She has led multimillion transformation initiatives in complex organizations in the UK and around the globe. For the British Council, Renuka delivered projects across 100+ countries for simplified and risk-based assurance. Recently, she led Cross Government Transformation on behalf of the Chief Executive at the Cabinet Office. Her portfolio spanned across 12 ministerial departments, implementing change during Brexit, worth £50 billion.
Renuka is currently Director of Corporate Strategy at King's College in London, building collaboration, expertise and networks across disciplines, functions and operations.
Renuka completed a PhD in Accounting at the London School of Economics. Her research interests include impact and evaluation of projects in conflict zones. Currently, Renuka is the Director of Corporate Strategy at Kings’ College London.
Mr. Hitesh Patel is our Aviation Operations Advisor.
He is a strategic and proactive leader with over 30 years of experience in building and directing globally renowned organizations through the implementation of self-derived strategies to ensure consistent growth and long-term ﬁscal success. He was the Director of Technical Operations at JetBlue Airways in New York at its inception. In 2004, Hitesh was recruited to lead the operations and launch of Kingﬁsher Airlines in India as exec VP. In 2013, Veling Aircraft Leasing in Mauritius selected Hitesh as Chief Executive Oﬃcer. Through a stellar record in the administration of P&L aspects, derivation and execution of MM$ budgets, and oversight of
mergers & acquisitions — Hitesh is regarded as a visionary in large-scale start up eﬀorts and global leader within the aviation industry.
Hitesh is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Mr. Phil Duong is our Go To Market Strategy Advisor. He is a Marine Corps veteran and accomplished tilt-rotor and helicopter pilot with over 15 years of service. He is an aerospace entrepreneur and a specialist in aviation predictive maintenance. He has a BS in Computer Science and a MBA from Columbia University.
Dr. Bose is an Associate Professor at the University of Houston in the Department of Engineering Technology. She has 30 years experience developing fuel cell component technology. She received her PhD in Chemistry from Kent State University. She is a Co-I on our Air Force Agility Prime Contract.
Dr. Chen is an Associate Professor at the University of Houston in the Department of Physics. She has 15 years experience developing materials for thermal and electrochemical energy conversion and storage and fuel cell catalysts. She received her PhD in Physics from Boston College and had a Post Doctoral appointment at MIT. She is a Co-I on our Air Force Agility Prime Contract.
